Climate of change for ITV news

The Guardian, 2 August 2001:

Lord McNally’ is right to voice concern about Sky News producing news programmes for ITV.  Last year Murdoch’s organisation, News Corp, gave $1.2m towards Bush’s election campaign, the same amount that was donated by Exxon.

The idea that ITV’s policy on environmental issues should fall into the hands of Rupert Murdoch does not bode well for the future of the planet.  Those that think Murdoch organisations present such issues impartially should review the leading articles on climate change published this year by the Times.  These are all supportive of Bush’s decision to abandon Kyoto and blame European leaders for any weakening of the transatlantic relationship.
